How Adoption (Very Important Pets) Change Lives
Not every dog we raise is suited to a career as a service or facility dog. Some dogs are better matched to life as a beloved family pet. Our Adoption (Very Important Pets) Program finds loving forever homes for these career-change dogs.
These dogs have received excellent socialization, foundational obedience training, and veterinary care throughout their time with us. They are well-mannered, loving, and ready to bring joy to a family that can offer them a wonderful home.

Adoption Fees
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care, training, and veterinary support each dog receives throughout their journey. Discounts are available for eligible adopters — see below for details.

Available Discounts
A discount of $1,000 is available to eligible adopters under either the Medical Needs Discount or the Volunteer Discount. Both discounts cannot be combined.
Volunteer Discount
The volunteer discount is only available with confirmation from Dogs With Wings and must be approved prior to adoption.
Eligibility for Medical Needs Discount
To be eligible for the medical needs discounted rate, one or more of the following must apply:
- 1The dog is currently on medication that requires ongoing prescriptions after adoption.
- 2The dog has been diagnosed by a veterinarian or veterinary technician with a condition requiring ongoing support after adoption.
- 3A physical condition has been identified by a DWW veterinarian or veterinary technician that will require ongoing support after adoption.
